Besides assessing the party’s electoral performance, delegates will also deliberate on policies and motions to safeguard Sabah’s rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and strategies to address people-centric issues such as infrastructure development, cost of living and economic opportunities.
In the Dec 29 election, PBS was allocated 15 seats and won seven - Kundasang, Matunggong, Kiulu, Tandek, Lumadan, Telupid and Limbahau.
Joniston said the conference also marks four decades of the party’s struggle, resilience and commitment to Sabah.
He said the gathering will serve as an important platform for the party to reflect on its journey since its founding, assess current political and socio-economic challenges and outline its direction moving forward.
Dr Jaochim will also officiate the joint opening of the PBS Youth and Wanita Delegates Conference on Dec 17, followed by the main Annual Delegates Conference on Dec 18, which is expected to bring together party leaders, grassroots representatives and guests.
