KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Government has set aside RM268.95 million in the 2026 State Budget to strengthen food security and support agriculture, fisheries, and livestock.
Under the 13th Malaysia Plan, RM82.5 million will modernise farming with high-yield crops, irrigation, and mechanisation; RM45.8 million will enhance fisheries infrastructure; and RM40.2 million will support livestock breeding, veterinary services, and feed.

Additional allocations include RM32.85 million for vocational training, RM35 million in subsidies for smallholders, and RM20 million for research on climate-resilient crops, disease-resistant livestock, and sustainable fisheries. ICT, market linkages, and trade support initiatives will further improve productivity and competitiveness.
