Kuala Lumpur: Batik Air is strengthening air connectivity across East Malaysia with the introduction of two new direct services between Kota Kinabalu (BKI) and Kuching (KCH), as well as Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan (SDK), commencing 15 December 2025.

These new routes reflect the steady rise in demand for seamless intra-Sabah–Sarawak travel and support efforts to enhance regional connectivity ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026). Both services are expected to boost domestic tourism, facilitate business travel, and create more efficient links between key cities in Borneo.
