Kota Kinabalu: Students of Kolej Teknologi Yayasan Sabah (KTYS) organised the KTYS Entrepreneurship Day 2026 at the college’s Sembulan Campus recently.
The programme was attended by lecturers and students from various academic programmes and formed part of the Entrepreneurship Skills subject component emphasising experiential learning under the supervision of Project Advisor Sylvester Motulis and chaired by Diploma in Electrical Technology student Gray Olsen George.

The initiative aimed to nurture entrepreneurial knowledge and skills among students while enhancing confidence in managing business operations and cultivating leadership, creativity and teamwork.
The highlight was the “KTYS Got Talent” singing competition which showcased the diverse talents of students.
Jespher Kenny from the Automotive Skills Certificate programme emerged champion, followed by Valerie Herry Alias and Annabelle Lana Eric, both from the Diploma in Early Childhood Education programme, as first and second runners-up respectively.
Meanwhile, Melcyee Michael, Escarlinda Evamargaret and Muhd Rayna Ku’Hairil Mohd Harsono finished in fourth to sixth places.
The event also featured student-run sales booths offering food, beverages and handicraft products, as well as a blood donation drive organised in collaboration with Hospital Queen Elizabeth.

The closing ceremony was officiated by KTYS Chief Executive Officer Datuk Tah Nia Jaman, with senior management and staff also present.
