KOTA KINABALU: Sabah food and beverage exporters have been invited to participate in an international exhibition in Indonesia this November, offering local businesses an opportunity to promote their products to buyers from around the world.

The exhibition, to be held at NICE, PIK 2 Tangerang, Banten, near Jakarta, from Nov 4 to 7, is organised by Krista Interfood, Indonesia’s largest exhibition organiser with 32 years of experience.

Its Executive Director, Tita Soendoro, encouraged Sabah exporters to establish a dedicated Sabah pavilion at the event to showcase the State’s diverse range of food and beverage products.

“We welcome Sabah exporters dealing with food and beverage to present and offer their products to the Indonesian market,” she said.

“With visitors coming from various countries, this exhibition provides an excellent platform to showcase Sabah products internationally.”

Soendoro said the 80,000-square-metre venue will host numerous international programmes, including culinary showcases featuring some 1,000 chefs from around the world.

Among the highlights are cooking competitions, live culinary demonstrations, coffee-making battles and gelato contests.

She said the exhibition is expected to attract 500 international buyers, in addition to exhibitors from Malaysia and other countries.

“We anticipate more than 1,000 chefs to take part in the competitions, with business matching sessions and a special platform to arrange meetings during the event,” she said.

The exhibition is expected to draw participants from across the region, providing Sabah businesses with valuable opportunities to expand into new markets, strengthen trade ties and promote locally made products to a wider international audience.
