SEMPORNA: The General Operations Force (GOF) Battalion 22 in Kunak detained a local and seized 310 litres of petrol and 400 litres of diesel during an operation in front of Jeti Umum, here, on Tuesday.
The suspect was apprehended during the Ops Tiris 4.0 (Integrated) after he failed to produce any written permission to own or store the controlled items.
Also seized were a fibre boat and a Yamaha 200Hp engine, two units of batteries, a set of throttle systems, a wheelbarrow and other items.
All the seizures were worth an estimated RM30,365.40, including the controlled items worth RM2,082.70.
The suspect and the seized items were handed over to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Semporna for further action.
The case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
