KOTA MARUDU: Grassroots leaders must continue to play a pivotal role in safeguarding unity, harmony, stability and the wellbeing of communities amid evolving challenges, said Sabah Community Development Leader Unit (UPPM) Director Datuk Awang Kadin Tang.
He said community leaders serve as the Government’s frontline representatives and the vital link between the administration and the people, making it imperative for them to continuously strengthen the values of patriotism, integrity and unity within society.
According to Awang Kadin, the Malaysia Madani Nationhood Seminar at the community level, jointly organised by the Malaysian Nationhood Academy (AKM) and Sabah UPPM, provides an important platform to empower community leaders with a deeper understanding of their roles and responsibilities as catalysts for community development.
He said the seminar was more than a knowledge-sharing platform, describing it as a medium to nurture love for the nation, preserve unity and reinforce the identity of community leaders in navigating contemporary challenges.
