The latest incident on May 9 was reportedly the second attack in the area within two days, with the fire believed to have spread from a house targeted by the attackers.
In a Facebook statement on Monday, Perling assemblyman Liew Chin Tong said the attacks were allegedly connected to Singaporean “ahlong” activities targeting debtors across the border.
He described the incident as a serious violent crime and expressed appreciation to Bukit Indah police for their swift response after reports were lodged.
He added that police had increased patrols in the area while welfare assistance and additional community security measures would be coordinated for affected residents.
