The fire involved a row of shops measuring about 60 by 220 square feet, including a motorcycle workshop where 17 motorcycles and two cars — a Perodua Myvi and a Perodua Viva — were destroyed.

A 36-year-old man suffered burn injuries to his fingers and was taken to the Timbua health clinic by members of the public, while the operation involved six personnel using two hose lines with three jets and water sourced from the fire engine tank and a hydrant.
