Cake order receipt wording for child draws public backlash
For illustrative purposes only.
Kuala Lumpur: A viral social media post has sparked concern after a receipt for an ice cream cake order contained the wording “Bakal Jenazah” (soon-to-be deceased) linked to a child’s name.

The incident involved a pre-order placed for a two-year-old’s birthday celebration, with the wording only noticed upon collection of the cake.

The customer claimed the name was entered at the counter during the ordering process and demanded an explanation for the wording printed on the receipt.

The post quickly gained traction online, with netizens expressing concern over sensitivity, professionalism and the handling of customer information.

Some users described the wording as inappropriate, while others urged caution and called for proper verification of the circumstances.

The company involved has since issued an apology and said it is investigating the matter and taking steps to address the issue.
