Kota Kinabalu: Sabah and Labuan Chinese Chamber of Commerce Deputy Secretary Weal Cheoh said hailed the government’s decision to temporarily adjust the Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) subsidy quota.
He said the move is necessary and pragmatic strategy to protect the national economy while ensuring the welfare of the majority remains intact.
“Business leaders and political figures here have voiced support for the move, emphasising that maintaining the subsidised price of RON95 at RM1.99 per litre remains the government’s primary achievement, despite the quota being revised from 300 to 200 litres per month starting April 1, 2026, “ Weal said.
Weal noted that the 200-litre limit is “sufficient for normal usage” for the majority of private vehicle owners, particularly those with engines below 2,000 cc.
