CILTM Sabah has, over the past term, moved beyond being a professional body that simply observes. It has positioned itself as an active industry participant pushing structural conversations, engaging institutions, and carrying their mandate within its scope.
The section is widely recognised for its advocacy in elevating logistics and transport within Sabah’s policy framework, including its role in pushing for institutional alignment and contributing to the eventual elevation of the transport portfolio into a ministerial function under the Ministry of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship (MINDET).
Addressing members at the AGM, Dr. Hjh Zawiah Abdul Majid delivered a pointed message on the Section’s trajectory:
“CILTM Sabah has demonstrated what a professional body should be relevant, vocal, and grounded in industry realities. The shift we are seeing in Sabah, where transport is now treated as a strategic economic function, did not happen in isolation.
It reflects sustained advocacy, credible engagement, and leadership that understands both policy and operations.
CILTM Sabah has shown a consistent pattern of engagement, ranging from policy advocacy and stakeholder alignment to industry convening and safety Intervention reinforcing the Section’s standing as a credible and trusted voice in logistics and transport.”
