MANILA: A woman here has amused the Internet after discovering that the green “Buddha” she worshipped daily for four years was actually a 3D-printed model of Shrek,

The unidentified woman bought the statue from a local shop, drawn to its rounded form and gentle expression which she believed represented Buddha.

She placed it on her home altar, offered incense and prayed faithfully each day, hoping for blessings and peace.
The revelation came when a visiting friend remarked that the colour and facial features looked unusual for a Buddha statue.
A closer look confirmed the truth, leaving the woman amused and momentarily speechless upon realising her devotion had been directed at a cartoon ogre.
Taking it in good humour, she said sincerity mattered more than appearances and even joked that she planned to continue her prayers.
The episode sparked laughter online, echoing other light-hearted cases where mistaken “miracles” later turned out to have very ordinary explanations.
