KUALA LUMPUR: Two earthquakes struck the Philippine Islands region on Wednesday, with a strong 6.4-magnitude tremor at 11.03am followed by a moderate 5.3-magnitude quake at 12.13pm, according to a statement by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
MetMalaysia said the quakes were located about 129km to 136km southeast of Bislig, Philippines, at depths of 67km and 65km respectively, based on seismic monitoring and regional data.

It added that there is no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
