TONGOD: A formal appeal has been submitted to reinstate the proposed road linking Kampung Kenang-Kenangan and Desa Permai under the Rolling Plan of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP).
Kuamut Assemblyman Datuk Masiung Banah

He said the 50km road project, estimated to cost RM350 million, was a priority as it was the only major proposal raised since he became the elected representative in 2008.
Masiung said more than 2,500 residents from five villages had been forced to rely on boat transport costing between RM500 and RM700 and take five to seven hours to reach Tongod, Bukit Garam or Kinabatangan.
He hoped the Federal Government would reinstate the project under 13MP to address the long-standing road access issue faced by residents in Kuamut.
