Kota Kinabalu: A mixer lorry driver, Abdul Hasim Akop, 45, was fined RM2,000 or jailed six months by the Traffic Court for negligent driving that endangered lives.
He pleaded guilty before Magistrate Marilyn Kelvin to driving the lorry along Jalan Sepanggar near the Indah Permai flyover at about 11.40am on July 14, 2025.

The offence under Section 279 of the Penal Code carries a maximum fine of RM2,000, jail of six months, or both.
In a separate case, Jonah Muh, 29, was jailed one day and fined RM10,000, or six months’ jail, for drink driving.
He pleaded guilty to driving a Honda City with 99mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood — above the legal limit — at Jalan Bundusan at about 12.30am on April 4.
The charge under Section 45A of the Road Transport Act 1987 carries up to two years’ jail and a fine of RM10,000–RM30,000.
Jonah was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for two years.
