DHAKA: A rare albino buffalo that went viral for its resemblance to United States President Donald Trump has been spared from ritual slaughter, according to Roya News.

The 700kg buffalo became an online sensation due to its light-coloured hair, which drew comparisons to Trump's hairstyle.

The animal was originally set to be sacrificed during Eid al-Adha celebrations in the Muslim-majority country.

However, it was rescued following a last-minute government intervention shortly before the scheduled slaughter.

The buffalo has since been transferred to a state wildlife facility, where it will undergo quarantine before being placed under long-term care.
