PENAMPANG: The Penampang 4x4 Wheel Drive Club, led by Alex Leong, president of Kelab Rekreasi Pacuan 4X4 Penampang, recently organised a charity event titled “Joy Ride with the Champions for a Good Cause”.
The off-road adventure raised RM6,000 in aid of the Kinabalu Pink Ribbon Association, which supports breast cancer patients in their treatment.
The charity ride was officiated by Penampang Municipal Council President Noemi Dyena John Tren.
Also present were Assistant Minister of Youth Development, Sports Advancement and Creative Economy, Dato Sri Dr. Anil Sandhu, and Kinabalu Pink Ribbon senior manager Annie Chin.
The three-day event drew enthusiastic participation from drivers across Sabah, Sarawak and the United Kingdom.
Participants showcased their skills in navigating challenging terrain, thrilling spectators with real-life off-road experiences despite muddy and difficult conditions.
Members of the public who joined the ride contributed participation fees, while additional donations were received from supporters.
Besides the adrenaline and endurance displayed, the event highlighted the strong spirit of community and generosity, as drivers and supporters came together for a meaningful cause.
