SELANGOR: Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd has announced an expansion of its Westport Fuels Terminal in Port Klang to strengthen Malaysia’s fuel supply resilience.
The project will add three new gasoline and diesel storage tanks and upgrade import facilities to handle larger Medium Range (MR) vessel parcels, improving efficiency and supply capacity.
Construction is set to begin in 2026, with phased completion targeted by early 2028. All contracts have been awarded to Malaysian companies.
Shell Malaysia Trading Managing Director Shairan Huzani Husain said the upgrade will enhance competitiveness, increase volumes, and improve supply reliability nationwide.
The Westport terminal has been operating since 2010 and remains a key part of Shell’s distribution network in Malaysia.
