Pandikar urged to resign
Iskandar said the decision was not unanimous, noting that 19 of 26 division chiefs, along with a majority of Supreme Council members, had publicly shown disagreement.
Kota Kinabalu: Usno Information Chief Iskandar Zulkarnain Ramli has called on party president Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia to resign, saying the decision to pull the party out of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) was rash and lacked majority support from party leadership.

Iskandar, who is also GRS Deputy Youth Chief, said the move had done more harm than good.

“The decision to take Usno out of GRS is unwise, hasty, and more damaging than beneficial to the party,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.

He said the timing was particularly poor as Usno currently holds no seats in the State Legislative Assembly.

Leaving the government without a clear direction as an opposition, he said, would further weaken the party and reduce its chances of rebuilding political strength or serving the people.

Iskandar said the decision was not unanimous, noting that 19 of 26 division chiefs, along with a majority of Supreme Council members, had publicly shown disagreement.

He added that key party wings, including Kaum Ibu and the youth movement Kumpulan Generasi Baru, were not consulted before the announcement.

“This is a clear signal that Pandikar has lost the confidence and support of a large part of the party leadership,” he said.

Iskandar urged Pandikar to step down for the sake of the party’s future and allow new leadership to emerge.
