BEIJING: A woman died after a safety rope snapped during a cliff swing ride at Maliuyan Waterfall in Huaying, Sichuan, recently.

Despite her concerns, a staff member released the swing, and the rope snapped shortly after she left the platform, causing her to fall onto the cliff.
Authorities confirmed Liu died on the way to the hospital following the incident.
The site has been ordered to close for rectification, with the case preliminarily classified as a production safety responsibility accident, and investigations are ongoing to determine accountability.
The operator, Chongqing Adventure Camp, had promoted the attraction in March, while a separate notice announced a temporary closure from 4 to 10 May for equipment inspection and maintenance, citing force majeure factors.
