Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s increasing profile in Italy as a tourism destination is set to open new opportunities for collaboration in tourism, education and public health between the two regions.
Italian Ambassador to Malaysia, Raffaele Langella, said that the rising recognition of Sabah in Italy highlights growing interest in the state’s cultural appeal and industrial potential.
Langella expressed Italy’s eagerness to explore partnerships in the university and tourism sectors, as well as potential investments in public health initiatives.
He said this after a courtesy visit to Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman at Istana Seri Kinabalu on Monday.
The ambassador said the visit aimed to discuss areas of mutual interest and promote more concrete forms of cooperation.
Langella further noted that continued engagement would strengthen economic and diplomatic ties between the two regions.
He also committed to making more frequent visits to Kota Kinabalu to ensure that identified opportunities for cooperation are fully explored.
