Kota Kinabalu: SM All Saints celebrated a milestone with its 75th Excellence Award Ceremony, honouring the academic achievements of outstanding students during a prestigious event held at the school’s main hall last Friday.
The annual ceremony brought together students, parents, teachers, and distinguished guests in a meaningful celebration of dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence.
The event commenced at 8.30am with an opening address by principal Dr Mary Gambidau, who expressed appreciation for the unwavering commitment of teachers and the diligence demonstrated by students throughout the academic year.
Quoting Winston Churchill, she reminded the audience that, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts,” encouraging students to remain resilient in their pursuit of excellence.
The ceremony was officiated by Lim Mui Len, Chairperson of the Board of Management of SM All Saints, who attended as the Guest of Honour. In her speech, she congratulated the award recipients and commended the school for fostering a strong culture of academic excellence and holistic development.
A total of 153 students received awards across various academic categories, including best overall performance by grade level and top achievement in individual subjects, reflecting the school’s high academic standards.
Special recognition was given to 42 students for their outstanding results in the 2025 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.
Among them, top achievers Davyn Ninian Daim and Tiu Zhe Hong Jayden each attained an impressive 6A+ and 3A, setting a commendable benchmark for their peers.
The ceremony was further enlivened by student performances that showcased the talents and creativity of the school community, adding a festive atmosphere to the occasion.
The event concluded with the singing of the school anthem, “The Saints,” marking a proud and memorable end to the celebration.
Beyond recognising academic accomplishments, the 2026 Excellence Award Ceremony served as a source of inspiration for the entire school community, reinforcing the values of determination, hard work, and the continuous pursuit of excellence.
