KUDAT: Eighteen households affected by a fire in Kampung Perpaduan, Gumpa received RM1,000 in cash and food supplies after eight homes were destroyed on April 16.

The aid, delivered at the temporary evacuation centre, was presented by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Ts. Mustapha Sakmud on behalf of the Prime Minister.

Mustapha said both federal and state governments remain committed to assisting disaster victims, with support extended through registered evacuation centres. He added that additional needs, including schooling support for children, would be considered.

He also urged the public to stay vigilant during the ongoing hot season, warning of increased fire risks and stressing the importance of safety awareness at home.
