Kota Kinabalu: Petronas contributed relief assistance on Thursday for fire victims in Kg Bahagia, Sandakan, who were left homeless after a pre-dawn blaze last Sunday.
As part of urgent needs support, the national oil company prepared essential supply packages for distribution through the Sabah State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) and the Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS).
Each package includes bottled drinking water, warm blankets, bath towels, toiletries, sanitary pads, basic cutlery sets, baby wipes, and garbage bags.
Petronas Sabah and Labuan Regional Office General Manager Datuk Siti Ayu Abdul Wahab presented the contribution to Secretary of the State Home Affairs and Research Office, Chief Minister’s Department Datuk Awang Shahminan Datuk Awang Sahari, who is also SDMC secretary.
Earlier, a symbolic presentation was held with Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS) President Datuk Walter Kenson. Also present was JPKA Deputy Director of Operations Asnah Kasim.
“We hope these supplies can help ease the burden for families going through a difficult time. We are working closely with the relevant agencies to ensure the assistance reaches those who need it most,” said Siti Ayu.
