Kuala Lumpur: A teenager had a narrow escape after falling into an open hole beside a sidewalk in Ara Damansara, Selangor, according to a
Threads post by user recently.
Photographs shared with the post showed the girl, dressed in a blue shirt, at the bottom of a dark hole described as deeper than her height and about a metre wide, connected to the pavement she had been walking on.
Two passers-by, a man and a woman, were seen reaching into the hole and eventually lifting the girl out.
She escaped without serious injuries although covered in mud, Sinar Daily reported.
“Luckily it's not raining yet,” the
Threads user wrote, adding, “How dangerous,” while tagging the Petaling Jaya Municipal Council (MBPJ) and urging action.
Other users also called on the council to act, with one claiming there were electric cables in the hole, increasing the risk involved in the fall,
The Rakyat Post reported.

Another user said the area frequently had such hazards despite upkeep, while others advised caution and urged people to inform family or friends of their whereabouts.
