SANDAKAN: Sawit Kinabalu Group Chairman Hazem Mubarak Tun Musa has welcomed a proposal to relocate the company’s Sandakan regional office to the Sawit Kinabalu Sandakan Industrial Park (SKSIP), citing the site’s suitability and capacity to support future operations.
Hazem said the proposed move would be appropriate given the spacious environment at SKSIP, which is capable of accommodating staff from the current regional office.
“We welcome any proposals or improvements concerning Sawit Kinabalu’s Sandakan operations,” he said when speaking at a Hari Raya Aidilfitri gathering with staff from the Sandakan region at Sawit Bulkers, SKSIP, recently.
Also present at the event were Group Managing Director Victor Ationg, Sandakan Regional General Manager Mohd Muazam Syah Idris and several board members.
Hazem also expressed appreciation to employees at SKSIP, urging them to remain committed to driving economic growth in Sandakan and across Sabah, while continuing to uphold integrity in their duties.
Earlier, Victor highlighted the need to relocate the Sandakan regional office, noting that its current premises at Jalan Lalang, Mile 1.5, have been in use for nearly five decades and are no longer suitable.
He said the existing facility, which is situated on a hill, poses limitations for further development or upgrading.
As such, he proposed that the office and its workforce be moved to SKSIP, which offers a more conducive and expansive setting, including facilities suitable for hosting corporate and industry-related events.
In a separate remark, Victor commended the staff for their continued dedication and effective performance in carrying out their responsibilities.
He added that the annual Hari Raya gathering, which is organised across several regional offices statewide, serves as a platform to strengthen camaraderie among employees while celebrating the festive season.
