Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Immigration Department has intensified enforcement efforts, detaining 55 undocumented foreigners in a series of operations around the city.
In a statement shared on its official Facebook page, the department said integrated operations — Ops Gegar, Ops Selera, Ops Kutip and Ops Sapu — targeted hotspots known for the presence of undocumented migrants.

During Ops Gegar, 114 individuals were inspected, with 22 Filipinos detained for offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63, comprising 12 adult men and 10 adult women.
Ops Selera and Ops Kutip saw 120 individuals screened, resulting in the arrest of 11 Filipinos, while Ops Sapu involved 49 inspections with 22 foreigners detained, including men, women and children.
In total, 283 individuals were screened across all operations, with those detained taken to the Kota Kinabalu Immigration Depot for further action as enforcement efforts continue.
