SINGAPORE based super app Grab is set to expand beyond Southeast Asia by acquiring Delivery Hero’s Foodpanda Taiwan for US$600 million, pending regulatory approval.
The deal will be cash-free and debt-free, expected to close in H2 2026.
Grab plans to integrate Foodpanda Taiwan into its delivery ecosystem, using AI-driven logistics, mapping, and personalisation tools to improve service for consumers, merchants, and delivery associates.
Taiwan will become Grab’s ninth market, operating in 21 cities.
Foodpanda Taiwan reported US$1.8 billion in GMV last year and was profitable on an adjusted EBITDA basis.
Delivery Hero will continue operations until the acquisition is completed.
Grab aims to migrate users, merchants, and drivers to its platform by early 2027, ensuring a smooth transition and consolidating its position in Taiwan.
