103 darts players compete in Persatuan Keturunan Keluarga Damit tourney

Tuaran: A total of 103 participants joined the darts competition organised by the Persatuan Keturunan Keluarga Damit (KKD), bringing together its members and local community.

KKD President Andrew Durat said the event was an initiative to foster closer ties among members and the community.

“We are grateful for the support and cooperation from everyone who helped make this event a success. Activities like this not only enliven the association but also provide a platform for social interaction and strengthen friendships,” he said.

KKD Deputy President Mark @ Haikal Jimmy Ngali also praised the organising committee, led by Timmie Jamleh of La’ Darts Club, for their dedication in ensuring the smooth running of the competition.

“This was KKD’s first indoor sports event, and we hope it will pave the way for more sporting programmes in the future. Next, we plan to introduce an open category that will involve more players from different districts,” he added.

The competition featured two categories namely, Closed Trio and Women Singles. Eighty-seven competed in the Trio category, while 16 contested in the Women Singles category.

The event coincided with the weekly KKD Market held every Saturday and attracted strong community participation.

Prizes for the winners included RM1,500 and a trophy for the champion, RM1,000 for the runner-up, RM500 each for third and fourth place, and RM150 each for fifth to eighth place as a token of appreciation.

The dart competition is expected to serve as a platform for talent development while encouraging the community to participate in healthy and beneficial sporting activities.
