PAPAR: A 26-year-old motorcyclist died in a tragic accident along KM23 of the Pan Borneo Highway, Jalan Lama Papar–Kota Kinabalu, on Friday.

District Police Chief Heryan Mohd Tahir said the incident occurred around 4.45pm when the victim, travelling from Papar towards Kota Kinabalu, attempted to overtake a tipper lorry heading in the same direction.

During the manoeuvre, the rider lost control after hitting a pothole and was thrown under the lorry, resulting in his death.
