Kota Kinabalu: Member of Parliament for Kota Kinabalu Chan Foong Hin warned Sabahans against being trapped in the middle-income rut as well as being over-dependant on cheap foreign labour as their government grapples with its policies that affect their future and that of their children.Speaking as a panel speaker at the Wisdom Foundation webinar on the virtual Wisdom Foundation organised webinar themed: “The Birth of Nusantara: Opportunities for BIMP-EAGA” on March 15, Chan said: “On the relocation of Indonesia’s capital from Java to Kalimantan, when this process is happening, I think Sabah must get ready for the reality that there would be no longer cheap labour coming to Sabah to work as the plantation workers.
