Kota Kinabalu: Penampang Member of Parliament and Kadamaian State Assemblyman Datuk Ewon Benedick said the annual education grants for schools in the Penampang parliamentary constituency and the Kadamaian state constituency will continue in 2026.
The Deputy Chief Minister III, who is also the state Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Transportation said the allocation is an ongoing commitment to ensure that primary and secondary schools—including those running Special Education Programmes—continue to receive adequate support to enhance the quality of education and learning facilities.

“Since being given the mandate as Penampang MP, every Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) of primary and secondary schools in this district has received annual education grants, including additional support for schools requiring immediate assistance, such as the aid previously channelled to SK St. Joseph.
“The same initiative is also implemented in Kadamaian, and this annual grant will continue for all schools in the Kadamaian area,” he said during the SK St. Joseph Penampang Graduation Ceremony held here on Saturday.
Ewon said support for educational institutions will remain a priority, not only through annual allocations but also through continuous collaboration with schools and local education communities.
He also expressed his appreciation to educators and parents for their efforts in ensuring the development of education and student character, which continues to form the foundation for excellence in the Penampang district.
“I would like to express my utmost appreciation to teachers and parents who ensure our children receive quality education and continue contributing to the excellence of their schools and Penampang,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ewon advised students to continue building strong character, respect teachers and family, and prepare for their future with discipline, commitment, and the noble values that form the foundation of personal development and educational success.
“Hopefully, ten years from now, every one of these 88 students will return as university graduates with their respective degrees,” he added.
At the ceremony, 88 Year Six students received their graduation certificates.
