KENINGAU: A woman was killed and seven others injured after a Toyota Hilux lost control and plunged into a ravine at Jalan Bingkor, Chanang Hill, Tuesday morning.
Fire and Rescue received a distress call at 9.54am and arrived at the scene within 11 minutes. The vehicle is believed to have skidded while descending a hill.
Eight victims were involved. One woman was found trapped and rescued, while six others exited the vehicle before responders arrived. Another woman, who was thrown from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Among the injured are two men in their 50s with chest pain, a woman in her 40s with minor injuries, a 23-year-old woman with a fractured arm, and a 10-year-old boy with shoulder pain. Two other victims were also hurt.
All injured were transported to hospital by EMRS and Health Ministry ambulances. The operation, involving police and health personnel, concluded at 11.51am after the area was deemed safe.
