TAMBUNAN: The Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration serves as a reminder of sacrifice, self-reflection and unity among people of diverse backgrounds, said Gagasan Rakyat Tambunan Chief Datuk Victor P. Paut.
He described Aidiladha as a significant occasion for Muslims that highlights the values of patience, sincerity and giving, especially through acts such as prayers and the korban ritual.
“Every act of worship, including helping those in need, reflects sacrifice in today’s modern world and should be carried out with sincerity and gratitude,” he said.
Victor called on the public to use the occasion to strengthen bonds, promote forgiveness and spread compassion among family, friends and the wider community.
He noted that while Aidiladha is a religious celebration for Muslims, celebrating together across communities has long been a shared practice in Sabah, reflecting unity and mutual respect.
“This spirit of togetherness is a symbol of harmony in our diverse society and must be preserved,” he added.
