PENAMPANG: Singer Esther Applunius has defended her recent criticism on Facebook calling for fresh faces in the judging panel of Sugandoi talent competitions.
“I’m not questioning their experience or service as judges in the Sugandoi Kaamatan competition. In fact, many of them possess deep knowledge and years of experience in the industry,” she said.
However, Esther said that when the same individuals sit on the judging panel year after year, the public may begin to feel that the competition operates within a “closed circle”.
“In any professional competition, refreshing the judging panel matters,” said the 39-year-old singer, who rose to prominence through her appearance in the television reality show One in a Million.
