Man arrested over alleged bathroom peeping incident in Tawau

A woman experienced a frightening ordeal after allegedly discovering a man peeping at her while she was in the bathroom at the PPR Taman Sri Bukit Tawau housing area in Gudang 4 on Thursday.

District police chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the victim lodged a police report after being shocked by the presence of the suspect.

He said a local man in his 30s was later arrested by a team from the District Police Headquarters Criminal Investigation Division and Bombalai Police Station in connection with the case.

Jasmin said the suspect was identified following checks on closed-circuit television footage in the area surrounding the victim’s house.

He said police also seized a shirt and a pair of trousers believed to have been worn by the suspect during the incident in a raid conducted in the same area.
