He said the inspections were aimed at ensuring activities involving the storage, transfer and usage of diesel and other controlled goods complied with existing laws and regulations.
“The inspections are also intended to curb any form of leakage, misappropriation and abuse of subsidised controlled goods, including unauthorised transfers, suspicious storage activities and smuggling that could affect supply and market stability,” he said.
Ops Tiris 4.0 (Integrated) is being carried out continuously through strategic cooperation with other enforcement agencies to strengthen control over the subsidised diesel distribution chain and ensure government subsidies reach only eligible groups and sectors.
Amiluddin added that another enforcement team also conducted compliance inspections at petrol stations and retail premises around Labuan involving domestic trade laws, including price tagging compliance, the use of weighing and measuring instruments, supply of essential goods and other regulations enforced by KPDN.
