KOTA KINABALU: The Kota Kinabalu Health Office is offering free influenza vaccinations to Malaysians aged 50 and above to reduce health risks, especially lung-related complications.
Medical officer Dr Nur Farahin Mohd Din said the initiative targets at least 50 recipients through outreach programmes, particularly in rural areas where awareness and access remain limited.

The vaccine, which can cost around RM90 at private clinics, is also available at health offices nationwide.
The programme also provides basic health screenings, including BMI, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, with referrals issued for further treatment if needed.
Residents welcomed the initiative, citing improved access to healthcare services without the burden of travel costs.
