Kota Kinabalu: The Lindung Kerjaya MYFutureJobs Sabah 2026 Carnival recorded its highest-ever employer participation this year, attracting 52 companies to the state-level career fair organised by the Social Security Organisation (Socso) in Sabah at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here.
Socso Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed said the carnival brought together companies from various sectors to offer career opportunities to Sabahans, particularly youths and fresh graduates seeking employment and skills development opportunities.
“This carnival is more than just a job fair, but a platform capable of improving the socioeconomic wellbeing of local communities while contributing towards Sabah’s overall productivity and economic growth,” he said in his speech during the opening ceremony on Saturday.
Compared to last year’s state-level carnival, Azman said this edition saw a significant increase in employer participation, reflecting stronger collaboration between government agencies and industry stakeholders in addressing employment needs across the state.
He said this also reflects growing confidence among industry players in Sabah’s workforce, as well as increasing demand for structured employment matching initiatives to strengthen the state’s labour market.
Azman noted that the MYFutureJobs portal has recorded more than 3.2 million registered job seekers nationwide, including 253,805 applicants from Sabah.
He added that since its launch in 2020, more than 1.4 million job seekers have secured employment through the platform, with 63,499 of them placed in Sabah.
He reiterated Socso’s commitment to improving the competitiveness and employability of Sabah’s workforce by strengthening skills and capabilities, alongside organising career carnivals and related initiatives.
He said empowering local talent would enable Sabah’s youth to become strong contributors to the state’s productivity and Malaysia’s economic development.
The event also saw the distribution of Socso financial benefits to eligible individuals, including those who have lost their jobs or sustained workplace injuries.
