MATUNGGONG: Sabahans must continue to preserve the harmony and unity enjoyed in the State, as not all multi-ethnic countries are able to maintain such stability, said Women, Health and People’s Wellbeing Minister Datuk Julita Majungki.
She said Sabah has a unique advantage where people live in mutual respect despite differences in race, culture and religion.

Julita said Sabahans generally see one another as brothers and sisters rather than through racial differences, describing it as a strength that must be protected.
She said unity should not be taken for granted, as some countries have experienced conflict and unrest due to divisions within society.
According to her, peace and harmony in Sabah must continue to be preserved to ensure the State remains stable and able to progress further in the future.
Julita said strong unity among the people also contributes to continued political stability, allowing development and welfare agendas to be implemented more effectively, adding that the Kaamatan Festival reflects Sabah’s peaceful and harmonious cultural diversity.
Meanwhile, the Matunggong Sub-District Unduk Ngadau 2026 competition saw Crizzelbellkah Lorris crowned champion, followed by Wiwielian Phang as first runner-up and Ellyzzie Casey Epson in third place.
