Kota Kinabalu: Deputy Chief Minister I and Works and Utilities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam said Sabah is aggressively accelerating its digital transformation.
He said it is done by forging high-impact partnerships with the private sector to bridge the state’s connectivity gap, particularly in underserved rural and interior regions.
Joachim emphasised that the state government is moving to “future-proof” Sabah by integrating private sector expertise into the state’s core digital infrastructure agenda. The commitment to this digital overhaul was highlighted following a high-level briefing from CTS Horizon Sdn Bhd, led by CEO Zurinah Datuk Hanafiah.
The company, a critical player in Sabah’s telecommunications landscape, revealed its pivotal role as the fibre backhaul partner for the U Mobile 5G initiative, a move set to significantly boost high-speed data capabilities across the state.
