Private ambulatory care centre fined RM50,000
SANDAKAN: A private ambulatory care centre was fined RM50,000 by the Sessions Court here for providing ambulatory services without a licence two years ago.

Judge Roslinda Razali imposed the sentence on Healing Heart PLT after its representative pleaded guilty to the charge.

The court heard that the offence was committed at 9.40am on Nov 6, 2024 at the Oceanus Wellness Centre premises here, where the centre was found operating without a licence under paragraph 19(a) of the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1998 [Act 586].

A raid conducted by a team from the State Health Department’s Private Medical Practice Control Branch found two staff members and three patients undergoing treatment, while 11 items, including documents, machines and equipment, were seized during the inspection.

The prosecution was conducted by Anis Nadia Ahmad Lathpi while counsel Siti Marzalia Murshidi represented the centre, which was previously fined RM55,000 by the Kota Kinabalu Sessions Court on March 16 this year for a similar offence.
