PUTRAJAYA: Applications for registration under the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) for the land freight transport sector in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan will be open on May 4 (Monday).
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said applications can be made online via the official portal at mysubsidi.kpdn.gov.my starting from 9am.

He said several conditions must be met by land transport companies in the three regions to qualify for diesel subsidies under the system.
Among the main requirements, he said, is that the vehicles must have a valid and active Motor Vehicle Licence (LKM), and be registered as commercial vehicles with the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP) Sabah or Sarawak.
“In addition, companies, businesses or cooperatives must be registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), local authorities (PBT), or the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM). The vehicles must also fall under one of the 23 categories of approved land freight vehicles under SKDS,” he said.
Armizan added that the Government has set the current diesel subsidy rate for the land freight transport sector under SKDS at RM2.15 per litre, helping to reduce operating costs for logistics companies, particularly in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.
To ensure a smooth registration process, he advised all applicants to check their eligibility and select the correct registration category — whether company, cooperative/PBT, or sole proprietorship.
“Selecting the correct category is crucial to avoid delays or rejection of applications, while the purchase of subsidised diesel will be implemented using a fleet card method through oil companies chosen by the applicants.
“Companies approved under SKDS can apply for fleet cards by submitting their approval letter along with a list of vehicles to oil companies such as Petronas, Shell and Petron.
“Applicants are allowed to choose up to a maximum of three oil companies for fleet card applications, and the processing period is estimated at two to three weeks, depending on the company involved,” he said.
Armizan said applications for fleet cards can be made through the respective oil companies, namely Petronas via 1-300-88-8282 or its website, Shell via 1-300-22-8181 or its website, and Petron via 1-800-88-8298 or its website.
He reminded that the validity period of SKDS approval depends on the validity of the vehicle’s LKM or road tax, which must be updated periodically to ensure continued eligibility for the subsidy.
He urged all eligible companies and business entities in the land freight transport sector in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan not to miss the subsidy facility.
“The Government remains committed to ensuring that the targeted subsidy policy is implemented in a balanced, inclusive and effective manner for the wellbeing of the people and the stability of the national economy,” he said.
