KOTA KINABALU: A Sessions Court freed an agriculture officer, Zainal Aliasan, of six bribery charges after ruling the prosecution failed to prove a prima facie case.
Zainal, formerly with Risda in Keningau, had been accused of receiving RM22,300 to expedite claim payments, with funds allegedly channelled into friends’ accounts between May and July 2020.
The prosecution called 16 witnesses, but the court discharged and acquitted him without his defence being called.
