KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Forestry Development Authority (Safoda) recorded nearly RM70 million in revenue from 2021 to 2025, reflecting steady financial improvement, according to Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Isnin Aliasnih.
He said the agency generated RM69.7 million over the five-year period, noting that while the figure is modest, it shows consistent efforts in strengthening resource management and investments.
Isnin said this during Safoda’s 2026 appreciation ceremony, where outstanding staff were recognised for service excellence and long-term contributions.
He praised the commitment of Safoda personnel and attributed the agency’s progress to strong teamwork and dedication across all levels.
Looking ahead, he urged Safoda to diversify beyond forestry, including ventures in livestock and other industries, to maximise its extensive land resources and boost revenue.
Isnin said Safoda’s income mainly comes from plantation activities and joint ventures, including acacia and rubber cultivation that generate returns from both latex and timber production.

He added that Safoda has outlined initiatives under the Sabah Maju Jaya 2.0 and 13th Malaysia Plan, including forestry R&D, expansion of bamboo plantations, and development of eco-tourism projects to support sustainable growth and community benefits.
