KOTA MARUDU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said strong cooperation among component party leaders in Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) would strengthen the coalition’s position to ensure Kota Marudu is represented by a government MP after the 16th General Election (GE16) expected next year.
He said the confidence was based on the coalition’s control and support across the three State constituencies of Tandek, Matunggong and Bandau.
Hajiji, who is also GRS Chairman, said Bandau assemblyman Datuk Maijol Mahap, although an Independent, supports the GRS leadership following the 17th State Election last November.
He urged the public not to be influenced by opposition rhetoric and said the GRS government would continue its initiatives under the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) programme while prioritising the resolution of water, electricity and road issues within one to two years.
He said this at the Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house hosted by the Bandau assemblyman and the Kota Marudu District Office, where he also announced the approval of two development projects worth RM500,000 each, namely a new mosque in Kampung Tambun and the Kampung Lamparda low-level bridge.
