Kota Kinabalu: Financial Advisor to the Sabah Government Tan Sri Andrew Sheng said Sarawak is on the right path where good governance is concerned because of its emphasis on the four E’s.
“They got their ‘Economy’ right, they got their ‘Energy’ right, they got their ‘Environment’ right and they got their ‘Education’ right,” he said in an exclusive interview with Daily Express, recently.
The Sabah-born former World Bank advisor who also headed the Hong Kong Securities Commission said Sarawak wants to concentrate on education because they want to have the best trained Malaysians 10 years from now.
Among other measures it has taken is to, unlike in peninsula, recognise the UEC examination just like Sabah, as well as allowing the use of both Bahasa Malaysia and English in official correspondence and medium of instruction in schools by leveraging on its autonomy under the Malaysia Agreement.
