Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has called for priority to be given to urgent and immediately implementable projects that can deliver quick benefits to the people, particularly those involving educational institutions and hospitals.
He said Sabah has received an allocation of RM6.59 billion under the 13th Malaysia Plan, covering 1,233 projects or programmes, reflecting the Government’s commitment to ensuring the state continues to progress in line with national and State development aspirations.
Hajiji also urged more frequent monitoring of development projects to avoid delays and said implementation issues involving funding, land matters and utilities must be referred to the appropriate central and state authorities.
He said the immediate implementation of small-scale “low-hanging fruit” projects had been emphasised at a recent district development meeting, adding that such projects must be executed efficiently, on schedule and without delays.
He added that poverty eradication remains a key focus under Sabah Maju Jaya 2.0, alongside continued investment in infrastructure and socio-economic initiatives to support growth and improve the wellbeing of the people.
