Kota Kinabalu: A senior forensic pathologist has concurred with findings that Zara’s injuries are consistent with a fall from height.
Datuk Seri Dr Bhupinder Singh Jeswant Singh said he agreed with the conclusions reached by forensic pathologist Dr Jessie Hiu after reviewing all documents related to the inquest.
Reading his written witness statement on Monday, he said the post-mortem examination conducted by Hiu and her team was meticulous and supported the assessment of both external and internal injuries.
Bhupinder, who testified as the 68th deponent before Coroner Amir Shah Amir Hassan, cautioned against over-interpreting the relationship between injuries and the estimated height of a fall, noting that multiple factors influence injury patterns.
He added that clothing examination is an integral part of forensic investigations, but was not available in this case, while earlier testimony by Hiu stated the injuries were consistent with a fall from height and unlikely to have resulted from an accidental fall or push from a standing position near the corridor railing.
